Powerful CPU testing software that performs mathematical operations on a target system with a few different algorithms, useful for overclocking a PC.
System Stability Tester is a free and open source system stability testing app and benchmarker developed by Lucas Tsatiris for Windows, it's customizable and powerful.
The download has been tested by an editor here on a PC and a list of features has been compiled; see below. We've also created some screenshots of System Stability Tester to illustrate the user interface and show the overall usage and features of this system stability testing program.
System stressing and benchmarking tool for overclockers
System Stability Tester attempts to test the PC stability by calculating up to 128 millions of Pi digits.
This download supports multiple calculation algorithms including: The Quadratic Convergence of Borwein and Gauss-Legendre, the algorithm SuperPi uses.
The testing process includes the creation of two or more threads. After each step of the calculation, the results of all the threads are compared. Any differences between them are reported. There is also the option for single threaded calculation, but in this case there is no stability check. This is useful for benchmarking purposes only.
The calculation of Pi itself is multi threaded since version 0.7.2, for the Borwein algorithm only.

Compatibility and License
Is System Stability Tester free?
System Stability Tester has been released under the open source GPL license on Windows from benchmark software. The license provides the options to freely download, install, run and share this program without any restrictions. The source code for System Stability Tester should be freely available and modifications are certainly permitted as well as the option to inspect the software.
Is System Stability Tester for Windows 10?
Yes. It can run on a PC with Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit downloads.
